Booker Transportation was founded in 1993 by Denis Cowley as a spinoff from Bar-T trucking in Garden City, KS. Initially, the livestock and reefer divisions of Bar-T competed for drivers, but Cowley had his eye on Texas. He visited both Perryton and the small town of Booker, TX, looking for any business incentives. Booker, TX won out, and he named his new trucking business Booker Transportation.

Since then, Booker Transportation has grown exponentially with terminals in Amarillo, TX, Linn, TX, and Wills Point, TX. It now offers a wide range of services, including full and partial truckloads, refrigerated, frozen, and dry freight, and customized logistics solutions. With more than 200 trucks, Booker Transportation has become one of the premier trucking companies in the South and Midwest. Its primary regions of service are Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and New Mexico.
